This project respects and reinforces the cornice lines and massing along the street. The front facade is made up of a series of glazed layers both in front of and behind the marmarino surface which serves as a solid datum with its pattern of punched windows. The curved wooden roof held back from the street facade relates to the scale and views from both the Underground and the Westway. Its curved form is the reverse of the nearby Serbian Church, balancing the streetscape composition and reflecting the apposition of the sacred versus the profane uses.
This building won a RFAC Building of the Year Award Commendation and the Council's Environmental Award in 1992.
